Excellent value
Date:
I will preface my review with the disclaimer that I am not an optics expert and make no such claims. My goal in making my recent purchase was not to aquire the highest quality binoculars on the market. What I was looking for was a decent pair of good quality binoculars for everyday hunting activity. These binoculars perform well, and seem to be made well. The reviews for the Acadia said there was an issue with the eye cups falling off too easily, I see no such issue with the Yosemite. The neck strap and carrying case are very nice as well. If they ever do fail to perform, the lifetime warranty should ease your fears. These advertize as being for smaller framed individuals, but I consider myself average sized and they fit me fine. Overall for the price I am Very pleased. Would definately reccomend.

Excellent for the Money
Date:
These won't be the nicest binoculars you can buy. However, they are the nicest binoculars you will buy for the price tag. These have a clear view and handle most lighting you will face very well. Mine have proved to be very durable, as they have survived 2 years (and still going) of just being flung along with me in some crazy hunts and adventures. They work very well for getting a good view of game, cattle, scenery, and most any basic use.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Date:
My recent purchase of the LEUPOLD 8x30 camo yosemite was a wise decision. The rubber objective lens caps are held on by a rubber ring which is a litlle loose,so be careful not to lose the caps. Other than that this is another EXCELLENT pc. of optical equipment by LEUPOLD!

I am impressed
Date:
I have always bought first rate binoculars for all my nieces and nephews, so when it came time to get my daughter her first pair of binoculars I did my research to find a good pair of mid-size with close inter ocular distance capabilities.
I bought these for my daughter when she turned two years old and although she liked to look through all of the binocs the only pair that she could actually get lined up behind was a pair of 10x20 Liecas that I have owned for about two decades and are a particular favorite of mine.
All of the compacts that hinged similar to the Liecas were either junk or were not something that was suitable for a youngster due to their cost approaching a thousand bucks. None of the compact poros would accommodate her close inter ocular distance and I was about to give up when I stumbled on the Yosemite by Leupold.
ThIs binocular fits her fabulously and the ones I got are pink camo and were on sale. The pink is a real bonus because I have some nice binos and she is no longer interested in any except the pink ones.
She is actually starting to get to the point that she is understanding how the focus knob works, I still have to focus them and then hand them to her to look through, she just turned three.
Ok, heres the deal, I bought Nikons and B& L for the other kids when they were seven or eight and the oldest are now nearing thirty years old and are still using them. They were pretty nice when I bought them and none of them has ever had any problem with them. Optically these Yosemite blow them all away. Hers are the 6x30 and I was really kind of impressed with them when I bought them. Today after looking through them to focus them for her for about a year now I can say that they really are pretty darn nice binoculars. I have a pair of Nikon EDG 8x42, a pair of Nikon Monarch X 10.5 x 45, the Lieca 10x20 and a pair of twenty year old Leupold 10x40 Gold Ring poros that are old favorites to compare them with.
These Yosemite are really sharp and clear all the way to the edges of the field. They don't have any color phase shifts that are weird either. They focus easily. They are durable enough too, we have not had any problems with the strap attachment point breaking, like others have reported.
The only place that they are lacking in much is that in low light they cannot keep up with the Leupold Gold Rings, the Monarch X or especially the Nikon EDG. But this really is not a fair comparison, the Monarch X is a well known low light performer and the EDG is a legend in its own time in that regard. Those old Gold Rings are still a bit better than the Yosemite, but not by a whole lot. Don't get me wrong though, they are not poor in low light situations, actually they are surprisingly good for their size.
I'm really serious, these are really some nice little binoculars. If I did not have my 10x20 Leicas I would consider buying a pair just because they are coat pocket sized and they are so nice optically.
