This styled jacket has a traditional style that delivers all the legendary warmth, silence and durability that wool is famous for, at a price that's reminiscent of the days when wool was a hunter's only choice. It features two side-entry pockets as well as a pair of large-capacity cargo pockets with button flaps. Dry-clean only. Imported. Sizes: M-2XL.
Camo pattern: Brown Camo.
I spent 20 hours in windy, sub 20 degree weather and my core never got cold. By Arizona standards, that's cold. It's quiet as it should be. It's reinforced on the knees and elbows and it's a decent pattern for the price. I've now had this set for five years and it's still in great shape.
I had wanted wool hunting gear for years and had reviewed other "super-premium" brands. Now, I wish I had waited and paid more $$$$. The day I took the new Columbia Gallatin Bibs and Coat out, it was blustery cold .......+ 20 degrees. I had layered sufficiently EXCEPT for wind proof layering. I didn't think I would need it.....wrong! The information posted about the Columbia Galatin wool hunting gear led me to believe it was great in the cold and wind....Maybe the cold but not the wind . The wind just cut through me and I nearly froze. Glad it was a short outing. I will have to make this clothing work since I have limited $$$$$ and will try to make it work by purchasing some "wind-proof" layering and maybe it will be okay. I've always heard that you get what you pay for. Guess its my mistake....
Received these, along with the Bibs as an early Christmas present. It was 26 degrees Saturday morning, I almost got hot walking the 200 yards to my stand and was warm all morning sitting in my stand. I was originally concerned about correct sizing since some reviews stated they ran big, the fit was perfect.
Not 100% wool but very warm and priced right. Fits very large but allows room for layering; a little heavy for long winter hikes but you'll be warm (had out at -35'c on a snow machine). Don't worry about the dry clean only cause blood breaks out of the wool rather than staining and you wouldn't notice it anyways with the pattern and wool as always is odor and bacteria resistant. Stands up great to Yukon winter hunts, nuf said.
