i would definately recommend this call. used it last year in colorado and had a bull coming in until my friend ran up to me to tell me the bull was coming my way...that was when i heard the bull crash off....lol.....this sept i will staple my friends butt to the woods ground..so he can't move...
I have always used diaghram calls for elk, but the last 2 years I am hooked on the Primos Hyper LIP and Hot lip products. I called in several bulls last year and the prior year. One to within 5 yards (young spike). But they kept coming in even at close range. Works well for me.
My son who is now 18 has killed a bull elk during archery season for the last two consecutive years. The Primos single reed is my primary call. I do carry at least two all the time. In rain and or long calling sessions they do tend to load up on moisture so being able to alternate calls is essential. There are a few downfalls but it is still by far my favorite call. On this order I believe I ordered four (if that tells you anything).
This is the go to call for me and my hunting partners. We have been using this call along with the Primos plate diaphram calls, and the Terminator bugle very successfully for the last several years. Archery season opened last weekend and we called in and harvested two nice bulls.
