Very warm coat. I have absolutely no complaints and I hunt the cold weather in the late season up in Michigan A LOT. The nice thing about it is that I can jump out of the truck with little or no extra layering and go to my blind. It has to be really cold for me to wear any extra layering.
I bought coat and pants 3 years ago. It is comfortable, warm, and easy to draw a bow. However, it is a weed seed magnet and way to noisy for bow hunting. For that reason I have wore it very little, mostly gun hunting. Last month I was going bow hunting, it was damp and cold ,I decided to wear the new camo, I guess I forgot how noisy it was. As a result I had a once in a life time buck, 4 yards from my stand, bolt away as I drew my bow.
I have this full suit, parka and bibs, and have been using it for 4 years now. It does what it says, keeps you dry and warm, in everything from rain sleet and snow and even a combination of all, like in Wisconsins deer gun season this year. Its quiet but if your a still hunter nothing beats wool for absolute silence. When you get some snow and ice build up on the legs of these bibs there will be a little noise when you walk. For stand hunting its great and very durable in the field and in the washing machine. Extremely warm, no complaints.
I read a lot of the reviews before I purchased the parka and the bibs. All I can say is spend the money if you want a top quality parka that will keep you warm. To get to my hunting spot, I have to climb a steep hill, wearing the Cabela's expedition long johns and a light shirt and pants, I would still be sweating when I would get to my stand. The morning hunts were 24 degrees, and a cold breeze, the parka and bib combination, kept me warm all morning long. The only down side is that I found the material is on the noisey side if you rub it against the tree, which just keep that in mind and plan your movements accordingly if a deer is close to you. The positives definitely out weighs the negative. Thanks Cabela's for a great product!
