Bad news
Date:
Believe the other bad reviews, I didn't and that's why this is going back tomorrow. Only gave it a 1 because you can't do zero.
Hard to adjust, adjustments move off settings.
Even if you were to screw/bolt this thing down, like it's intended, there is no way it returns to an accurate POI because the rifle moves fractionally even though it's strapped down and the adjustments do too.

Reveals the truth..
Date:
I've lived with this rest for 18 months now & am pretty happy with this rig. I've used it for 300 Rem Ultra Mag, 12ga shotgun & 50 cal muzzle loader; without this rest I'd still be thinking the T/C Triumph was a 4" @ 100 yard gun (Blackhorn 209 & Barnes 250g T-EZ's) when it's really a 2.5" gun at that distance. Similar deal w/ the 12 gauge rifled barrel Rem 870. I fired a 1.5" extreme spread 5 shot group w/ the M700 in 300 RUM last wk @ 200yards. The pads do allow the rest to move some if you're firing the trigger manually. The hydraulic trigger release needs some tape to hold it in place securely, hence the 4 stars vs. 5.

so-so
Date:
If you don't mind having to add washers, o-rings, etc to tighten up the slack in all the adjustments then this is for you. After about an hour I had everything tightened up pretty good. Absolutely must have this rest anchored down solid. Will not work satisfactory on anything but a solid bench due to movement from the operator. Trigger release is a good idea in theory, but needs to be designed better to allow solid mounting on gun. Would i buy another, no, but I am keeping mine and will re-design some of it's issues.

Good Idea/Poor Design
Date:
This gun rest represents a good idea converted to a poor physical design which cut corners to save money but adversely effected the performance of the gun rest. Left to right adjustment is down with a coarse threaded section .......does not maintain set position because of too much play in the mechanism / design. Front strapping difficult or impossible to properly use on rifles with 50 mm diameters. Hydraulic trigger is difficult to mount on many rifles.......pressure during its use is not applied perpendicularly to trigger. This trigger device tends to flex ...thus applying more pressue to one side of the trigger. Horizontal adjustment with its plastic and coarse threaded section also has too much play to be satisfactory. Unit being returned to Cabelas.....................Functionally junk!!
