Very Cool Gunrest!
Date:
It keeps your crosshairs very steady, folds up pretty compact & it's also lightweight. A real good cure for buck-fever or shivering from being cold. It won't take all of the recoil out of a 30/06, but when shooting smaller rounds your crosshairs hardly move off of the target. Semi-auto rifles like my Mini-14, are extremely fun because target acquisition from one shot to the next is quick & steady. Shoot all the targets before your friends get a shot off, just too much FUN!!

Benchrest in the field!
Date:
If you are setup and waiting on deer this Fieldpod will give you the deadshot. I used to sight in my rifle with the new scope I got at the same time. I have only fired it sitting. Either in a chair or on the ground. I raise it to use it as a gunsmith's vise. Sure made it easy to get my scope level with the gun.

Great for Prairie Dogs
Date:
I used my Fieldpod with a swivel bucket seat to shoot prairie dogs. It is steady enough for a .204 with a 20X scope and much more manuverable than a bench. It also beats prone position.

durability problem
Date:
The rest works great, but after about 10 shots the center descending tube that stabilizes the leg braces sheared off inside the base. The wall thickness of the tubing is very thin, so I believe this is a design flaw and not a mfg. defect. I didn't keep the box, so I don't think I could ship it back too easily. I may try reinforcing the tube by rejoining with a tight fitting dowel liner and some JB weld. The shots I did get to make were 400 and 500 yds and the rest did hold the rifle quite steady. It is best used with a seated (ground) shot with your back against a solid stop.
