Don't waste your money on this Bench Rest
Date:
I purchased this Bench Rest from Cabelas on 08/01/2011.
The Lot number is 4/25/11.
First off 3 of the 4 tapped holes in Cradle Assemble PN 1001078 were stripped out. I can\u2019t attach the bag to the rest.
Second the threaded rod of the cradle Assembly is bent. When I went to straighten it the male Dovetail PN 1001181 broke.
Third the Forend stud PN 1004420 is too short.
It will not contact my rifle. If I turn it around it hits my barrel.
Everything except the base is made of pot metal.
This bench rest has cheap written all over it.
I am very disappointed in the quality of this product.
I should have saved my money and purchased a real Bench Rest

Great!
Date:
Just received the Rock BR. It was easy to assemble, and it is well built. The big plus was that it came with the unfilled bench bag AND the medium varmint bag. The controls are very positive and there is no slop in them. I've read alot of reviews about this product and I can assure anyone looking to buy this, that the negatives are unfounded from what I can see. My bench rifles foreend fits the varmint bag well, so I probably wont use the bench bag.

Love it!
Date:
Most of the time when we hit the range either my wife or son go with me and since I am the oddball left hander the rest has to move from side to side of the shooting bench. Previous rest was a Wichita and it was ok. But I did not realize what I was missing untill I decided to add a second rest and purchased the Caldwell Rock BR rest.
The Caldwell is heads and tails better than the Wichita. It has coarse and fine vertical along with horziontal adjustments. Originally the adjustment knob for the horziontal adjusting was on the left side which is difficult for a left handed. But take off the nut and unscrew the threaded rod and switch it to the other side and it works perfectly.
Would of gave it 5 stars except the bag included with it is cheesy. Other than that this rest is absolutely worth the money.

ADDITION
Date:
NOW THIS WOULD BE VERY NICE, IF THEY WOULD ONLY ADD IT TO THE FRONT OF THE DFT LEAD SLED, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE THE BEST OF THE BEST SHOOTING REST,
DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY HAVE NOT OFFERED IT
ALSO TO THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE THAT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FORE STOCK SINKING DOWN IN THE REST PADDING--- TRY A STRIP OF VELCRO TO SECURE IT DOWN AT THE FRONT AT THE PAD AN ANOTHER JUST IN FRONT OF THE RECIEVER,,,VERY EFFECTIVE
