Maintain peak power in any 12-volt battery with no-cost solar energy. Maintenance-free with amorphous solar cells that charge in all weather conditions. Works in extreme temps from -40° to 176°. 5-watt and 15-watt have four pre-cut holes for easy installation, and include battery clamps, CLA adapter and 10 ft. of wire. 7-amp controller protects 12-volt batteries from overcharging and discharge. The 1.8 watt model has an electronic float feature that protects batteries from overcharging.

    I have had one of these 1.8 volt battery maintainers for 7 years now hooked up to my boat and the battery is just as sharp in cranking amps as the first day I bought the boat new. I have one thing to say, the 1 and 1.8 volt solar battery chargers pictured above are actually BATTERY MAINTAINERS. I just bought one for my car and also bought the 7 amp controller because this description states "BATTERY CHARGER". Had to return the controller because this is a battery maintainer which has the built in controller to keep the battery from overcharging. I have notified Cabelas about their mis description of this item so beware. If you need a solar charger then by all means order the 7 amp controller, but for just keeping a battery fully charged when not in use this little solar panel works great. I also bought one for my brother in law for his truck which also doesn't see much use.

    i purchased the 1.8 volt charger and it works great have had it in my plow truck that i don't use in summer months and it is keeping the truck charged and ready to start . it is easy to use and set up. a definate buy for charging when not around.

    I purchased the 1.8 watt Sunforce solar panel and could not be more pleased. Mounted it in my truck on the driver's side sun visor with industrial grade velcro. It has held for six months. This thing will actuallyl lift the voltage in your car battery - not much - perhaps a tenth of a volt in good sun - but a tenth of a volt in a car battery is a big deal. It is not designed to charge a battery - but to maintain a charge - and it does a good job at its intended purpose.

    Disappointed to find out panel is not weatherproof. User's manual states: "This solar panel is not weatherproof if panel is weathered the warranty will become void. Unit can be weatherproofed by using clear silcone caulking around the edges of the glass frame and around the plugs to block moisture."
