I was very disappointed. i charged this unit up an through it in my new/used boat just in case I had battery problems. luckily I didn't have to try it for a few days when my pick up batterty was almost dead. So I fumbled around in the dark and hooked it up. It wouldn't crank it over 1 time. I had to move trucks around and jump it from another truck. I want a refund.

    Replaced internal battery

I bought the 18 amp unit a few years ago. I use it to power a 12-Volt corded fillet knife. The battery finally died on my last trip so I took it apart and found it has a standard gel cell battery inside. I removed the battery (dissassembly from start to finish about 10 minutes) & went to the local battery shop and purchased a new battery. It's nice these are replaceable as I now essentially have a new unit for less than 1/2 the price.

    Marine Starter-Up/Power-Up

I recently purchased a pontoon boat and was concerned about keeping the radio/CD player on as my family enjoyed hours on the water listening to music. Also we have a blender that uses battery power and of course just the thought of going down to the boat and the battery being dead just wouldn't do it for me. So I researched the net and the majority of chargers/jumpers also had lights and air compressors which I don't need. Anyway to make a long story short I found the marine starter-up/power-up to be just what what the Dr. ordered and that flipped my switch. I have not had it long but my brother-in-law had to borrow it already and it worked without fail. I would recommend this to anyone that just wants that little extra security. It can be carried anywhere and used on just about anything that needs 12v.

    Good product

I got stuck twice in recent months because I left my radio on in my car and the battery went dead. My fault. So as not to have to call AAA or find someone for a jump, I bought this jumper. I've used it a few times to help other people out in the same situation and it worked just fine.
