Advanced Technology (ATI) 12-Ga. Buttstock with Pistol Grip
The Advanced Technology Buttstock with Pistol Grip is a full-length stock with recoil pad that aids control for tactical use. Uses factory bolt. Simple installation, no gunsmithing. Made in USA. Fits: pump-action shotguns including Mossberg 500/590, Maverick 88, Remington 870 and Winchester 1200/1300.
i bought this because i like full stocks and based on the product reviews, the length of pull was fine. not the case. the length of pull is much longer than the mossberg and the fit and finish are lacking.
Stock has an inexpensive look and feel and did not come with the bolt to mount it to my Maverick 88 pistol grip. If it had shipped as mountable, which would have taken the addition of ONE inexpensive bolt, I might have slogged through trying to mount it, and who knows? The mounting would have been a chore anyway, since the bolt would have to be tightened way up in the stock. Maybe there is another way to do it, and I just did not "get it." However, again, without the bolt, switching from a pistol grip (hard to handle for me) with this stock was not going to happen.
Returned this part with no hassle and bought a folder stock with recoil spring in the pistol grip. What a difference! It is called a Spec Ops Stock and not only did it FIT out of the box, it included the mounting wrench. It was also twice the money, but with the recoil minimizing spring, it was worth it for me and I wish I had just bought it in the first place. Shooters should always choose the gun and parts that make for safe and comfortable shooting for them.

It is not a cheap or poorly made product. It is durable. But after installing it on a Mossberg 590, you can't remove the trigger assembly unless you remove the buttstock. If you can't remove the trigger assembly you can't remove the bolt or other parts for cleaning. It's true those parts don't need to be removed everytime you clean the gun.
Also, the buttstock is so small I could not find a recoil pad that would stay on it. And the pad that comes with the ATI is as hard as rock (rather than a new modern softer pad).
Myself, I prefer a pistol grip. But after I tried the ATI pistol grip stock I removed it and put the original stock back on (after cutting off a portion of it to reduce the LOP).
If you ask me, ATI could have designed the pistol grip buttstock to not interfere with the trigger assembly removal.
Before I purchased their pistol grip stock, I bought the adjustable one for my 590 but it raises the drop to zero making it impossible to use ghost ring sights so I had to return it. ATI makes durable stuff but their products seem to lack function.
