.223 M4LEP II Upper

Chambered in .223 Remington with a clean-shooting gas piston system
Mil-spec barrel with a 1:9 twist ratio
Head-spaced and test-fired before shipping

This .223 Remington upper incorporates a clean-shooting gas piston operating system that is less prone to fouling than a direct gas impingement operating system because propellant gases are vented at the gas block instead of in the upper-receiver system. The chrome-plated gas piston is mounted in a solid one-piece steel gas block with an integral 1913 Picatinny rail. The mil-spec certified 4140 chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel that has an 11° recessed target crown, a 1:9 twist ratio and is individually magnetic particle tested. The barrel is WASP-treated, including the chamber, bore and under the front sight base. The muzzle sports an A2 flash hider installed with a crush washer. Other features include a M4 single heat shield handguard, forged M4 upper receiver T-marked with M4 feed ramp cuts, a semiautomatic bolt carrier, and mil-spec .250-dia. takedown pins. Each upper is head-spaced and test-fired before shipping.
