These Backpacks feature 100% waterproof construction that makes them dependable under even the harshest conditions. Breathable foam padded shoulder straps and back panel allow for highly comfortable portaging or use as an all weather pack. Lashing straps across the top ensure a secure seal and provide handy tie-downs. Adjustable waist belt and load lifter straps. Easy roll-down top design provides convenient access to gear.

We bought large and medium sized packs for our recent trip to the BWCA. During the trip we had rain, as well as the packs always being wet in the canoe. It was a treat each evening to discover perfectly dry contents in the bags. They were very comfortable to carry (about fifty pounds in the big bag, and 35 pounds in the little bag). I can't come up with a single gripe. Nicely done, Cabela!

We've used varied Orange waterproof packs for wet Canadian trips for years, but always found them a bit flimsy. If you load them a bit full, the straps rip loose from the pack, so we've been looking for a sturdier built pack of the same size and type.
If you want a much higher quality than the orange packs, , this is definitely a good unit. I gave it a 4 coz we've only used it one season, but it sure seems durable and has a double thick bottom.

great bag for the money

I'm going on a coastal bear hunt in Alaska in September and the guide reccomended I buy a simms waterproof backpack but then I looked at the price and the size and compared it to the Cabela's Boundary Waters II Backpack and it was a no brainer which one to get. The Cabela's backpack was bigger and way less expensive.
