Quit guessing how much battery life you have left. Our battery box has a user-friendly built-in battery meter that
lights up at the touch of a button. Hooking up your trolling motor is easy. Just connect it to the external terminals
no more hassles opening the battery box until you need to replace the battery. Two power
ports allow the use of common accessories like cigarette adapter plugs. Circuit breakers included. Charge directly from
the external terminals. Accepts 24- and 27-series batteries.
Dimensions: 16"L x 9-1/2"W x 10"H.
I purchased this box a year ago. Be aware that if you lose a wing nut, it is metric and almost impossible to replace. Poor quality overall, battery strength indicator was not accurate, flimsy. Poor choice of Cabela to carry only this cheap knockoff of the very good Minn Kota box they choose not to sell.
The metering system isn't even close. The two accessory ports hit the top of the battery (size 24) before the top fully in place. The case it self is flimsy at best. They provide a technical support e-mail address, but don't respond.
I read some of the reviews and felt maybe those who received the battery storage container with the charge indicator maybe got a bad batch. So sorry to say that my indicator works poorly too. I can have it on the charger, the charger notes a voltage of 14+ volts but the "green" fully charged light NEVER comes on. I suspect it would work to let me know the battery was dying but I suspect the electric motor performance would let me know that. For the money, a cheap plastic box would suffice. the only benefit might be the external cigarette-lighter style adapter ports but haven't used them yet ( I hope they work!). It would be nice if there was a reasonable carrying handle for one hand (has finger slots of the left and right, necessitating both hands to carry). Also the strap to hold the cover down fit into the buckle with about a quarter inch to spare - could be longer.
The positive terminal was to small to fit the post, so I cut a small gap with some pliers. Im using a StowAway battery which is very common, so heads up if you buy the box. The battery guage seems to be accurate. I like the external quick connects and the AC/DC outlets.
