I had one of these on my last ATV for 8yrs., it was still working when I sold the ATV. It was only lightly used. Some plowing and elk quarters hung. Just bought a 08 Grizzly with power steering and put a new superwinch on. I mounted the switch on the right handlebar, the winch on the front bumper (using a model specific bracket sold separately) the switch box inside the grizzly plastic cover by the gearshift. Had enough wire for everything, cut off about 20 inches that ran to the winch. Ign. wire for mine was brown. This winch is not usable for synthetic rope, per manufacture web site. If you plan on a lot of use, I would spend more and get the best. For occasional use this is a great buy.
I bought this winch for my 4 wheeler for a cheap replacement for my old Warn. I have had it on there for 2+ years and am very satisfied. I use it often and it hasn't failed yet. I'll be changing to a synthetic line soon and the "in/out" switch is starting to wear out. I have used it to set up deer stands, pulled out ATVs, side x sides, and of course myself with ease and the snatch block is a great accessory too. I definitely recommend this winch to anyone for mid sized ATVs.
this winch works my plow ,and pulls me out when i get stuck ,its gotten me out of alot of trouble and never stopped,,ive even submerged it a few times . this is well worth the money
Got the winch and paid a buddy to put it on. Bought the winch plate to fit my Rancher. I ended up having to help him with it bc it was a bit difficult to figure out. The wiring was pretty straight forward. On the first ride out with it it quit working in the middle of use. I got home and took the whole winch apart. The magnet, motor, everything. Where the wires connect to the winch there are bolt heads on the inside of the casing with wiring soldered to it. I guess I had tightened up on the nut holding the negative wire too much and it twisted the wiring off the head of the bolt. Pretty cheap design. I ended up running another and securing it to get the connection right. Put it back together and everything worked fine. The wiring leading to the winch is a little short, but it will reach. I suggest adding a little more wire so it can be tie wrapped under the fender. Overall the winch pulls very well. I pulled myself and others out of some deep mud. I was kinda surprised after the issues I had in the beginning. I'm going to add a synthetic rope to the winch bc the wire one has gotten tangled up and burred up on me. For the amount spent the winch I'm satisfied.
