Excellent Recoil Reduction in 7mm-08

I bought a box of this ammo, as well as Remington's Managed Recoil offering for my daughter's new rifle. After reading about how these loads reduced recoil down to that of a standard 243, I had to give it a try. Two trips to the range confirmed they both significantly reduce felt recoil from standard 7mm-08 loadings, which are not that bad to begin with. I would agree they feel about like the 243's I have experience with. At the range is where the Hornady offering shined, turning in several sub-moa groups for me from my rifle, as well as my daughters. Her best 100 yard groups were less than 1 1/2". That is a little over a 1/2" improvement over the Remington load. My daughter shoots this round with confidence and no flinch, and we look forward to our first encounter with a deer this fall.

First deer I shot was a broadside 150 yard shot that landed where I wanted. The deer just tipped over. No exit wound might have caught lower part of spine high lung. The deer was cleaned by a processor but I suspect the bullet came apart? Not sure doesn't matter end result perfect. Recoil is much reduced than the Winchester 150 g power points I usually shoot. The Horrandy ammo is good but if I had a shot further than 200 yds I'd put n my big boy bullets. Accuracy is very good was printing within an inch of Win ammo at 100 yards. Haven't shot further on range than that. I set mine up to impact 1.5 in high at 100.

good stuff

bought this for my 12 year old son to use in his 30.06. sighted in easily, good accuracy. my son shot a 200 lb doe at 200+ yards. passed through both lungs and left a 4" exit hole.. good stuff.

good ammo

i have used several boxes of the 243 lately, it's accurate [ 1 1/2 in groups ] , sst is a great bullet and a noticable reduction in recoil. Dropped a buck at 125 yds no problem. Have also shot the 30 30 ammo and like it also. not quite as much reduction in recoil but enough to notice as compared to regular 30 30 ammo. I love this stuff, i can practice as much as i want and no sore shoulder. Can't comment on long range accuracy but up 100 - 150 yds i see nothing but good.
