Deadlies Mushroom in the woods

First off, guys, dont post about Partitions not expanding if you are shooting TSX's. Hunters are reading your posts and assume you know what your talking about and are giving the Nosler Partition bad reviews.

I shot a bull at 253 yds with a 180gr Partition years back with the bull quartering towards me. My shot hit the bull in the left front shoulder and clipped a spine process as it came to a stop in the bulls right rear hip. I found the bullet when I was butchering. It traveled more than SIX feet through that bull and lodged in the ball of his hip. The bullet mushroomed perfectly, the lead was smeared away, as expected and the copper petals were turned over in a classic mushroom look. the partition stopped the bullets expansion like it is supposed to do. The shank still had the lead core intact. PERFECT BULLET EXPANSION!!! you just cant ask for more.

Partitions have to be solid enough to control expansion of a 3200+ fps 50 yard shot as well as be soft enough to open on a 300+ yard shot. Partitions can and do both equally well. They are the DEADLIEST MUSHROOM IN THE WOODS...PERIOD!!! not to mention they group well. My .300WBY with keep them cloverleafing all day long.

First: Federal & Cabela's are very proud of this ammo judging by the price. But, by it's performance, they have every reason to be proud. At 100 yards, this bullet knocked a fat 4X4 elk completely off his feet. He staggered off about 30 yards and went down. Why pay big bucks for rifle, tags, food & transportation, then skimp on your ammo? This bullet will do the job if you do yours.

Bullet expansion

I selected a .300 Weatherby Magnum to propel 165 grain TSX bullets on a combination hunt last fall. The moose was taken at 225 yards and the caribou at 200 yards. Both animals required two shots to dispatch!

Due partially to the failing light and the guides responsibility to get us out of the woods, the initial wound channel on the moose was never found.

The lodges' largest caribou of the season was taken at 200 yards the next afternoon. The first high speed bullet passed cleanly through the bulls' neck. A second frustrating bullet was required to hit structure to secure the kill. Postmortem examination verified perfectly placed shots resulting in a small neck exit wound and a large, bone crushing, second exit wound.

The extremely accurate TSX bullet will penetrate deeply into and in the above cases through a game animal. Perhaps the Barnes MRX will be a better hunting selection.
