Great rifle, below average scope
Date:
I purchased the airgun about 30 days ago. It came with a wooden stock, not the SOCOM type (previous version). It was on sale for less than $300 at the time.
The scope is, at best, average (replaced it) but the rifle is great. The scope mount is better than the typical air rifle, it has a stud which holds it in place.
I have fired about 60-70 rounds at 15-20 yards with a 1/2" grouping. It seems to be consistently accurate with light pellets as well as heavy ones (Beeman Silver Arrow 24.38 grains).
All springer's have a break-in period (~100 rnds) and I suspect this rifle will continue to preform as well as it started out.
The rifle is well built and I would recommend it to others- no I don't work 4 Cabela's....
4 out of 5 stars because of scope..

junk
Date:
Bought this gun and was TOTALLY!! disappointed, It shot so badly you would not have been able to hit the side of a barn. When we went to return it to Gamo another resident was also returning one for the same reason. Amazing for a small town of 1300 residents. Cabela"s has a 30 day return policy and Gamo says it takes 1,000 shots to break a gun in.I even purchased a sled for the gun hoping to improve the shooting--to no avail. Just more money spent .

Not For Me
Date:
This gun was not for me. I have returned two of them and they both had the same issues, they lost velocity after 1000 rounds or so, no more crack just the sound of a heavy spring that vibrates you so bad that it makes this gun not so pleasant to shoot, and the trigger is long and stiff. I am no beginner i owen 6 different air guns and shoot daily. I have since bought a nitro piston and i love it, less money and twice the gun. There are better guns for less!!! Hats off to Cabela's great customer service...

GAMO Socom
Date:
This is a very fast and accurate weapon and everyone should own one if you want to be a successful air rifle hunter. I am very pleased in how many thing this gun is able to kill and you wont be disappointed if you purchase it. Many people do not use air rifles but even though I shoot from far distances i kill muskrats and beavers from almost 80 yards away. The gun does not slow down very easily and will penetrate through the water if you need it to. It is the most dependable air rifle ever made and you should get one.
