I bought one as a partice rifle, and I do find the airgun to do alright. However, like most I have found the scope to be lousy, and annoying to load pellets. The power of the rifle exceed my expectations and was forced to reinforce my target due to this factor. The open sights does do well to target with.
I got this for my child for christmas this year. He adores it. The bead and steel sight are good. I recommend not using the 4x15 scope. We tried scoping it in for over 2 days. It still doesn't work. AMAZING gun.
Had one as a kid and loved it (1978). Bought one last year and it was crooked. Did not feel like parts fit together right and things didn't line up. Returned and bought another. Never could get sighted in with open sights. Since then plastic piece that holds end of barrel and doubles as front sight fell out and couldn't find it. The last 2 always felt cheap and stock and receiver wobbled. I loved the gun as a kid but someone will have to convince me that Daisy has changed before I buy another.
