Great Buy
Date:
The Magic Worm Ranch Kit is easy to set up, easy directions to follow, and very easy to maintain. I highly recommend this produt for anyone who would like to raise and keep their own bait worms. The handy travel pack keeps your worms alive and cool even during the hottest weather. I have had success with it up to 100 F. The worms were alive even after a long, hot 12 hour trip.

What can I really say about a Worm Ranch. Basically, it's a convenient size, styrofoam cooler, with 4 air vents that will fit easily into a spare refrigerator. Comes complete with everything you need to immediately house 200+ worms.
Suggestions:
1) When you add water to the bedding material, be sure and use "distilled water", so that you don't chemically harm the worms.
2) Lay a thermometer inside the kit on top of the bedding soil. It's nice to know the surface temperature of the bedding material so that you don't get it too cold to freeze the worms. (ideally keep the temperature between 45 -55 degrees)
3) Sprinkle the worm food on top of the bedding material in lines and monitor it often. If you run out, you can substitute pulverized (dust) Cheerrio's or finely ground up oatmeal as a food substitute.

I have had worms in the ranch for over a month now and they are in excellent shape. The small worm box is very handy when fishing.

Worms, worms and more worms
Date:
I was very pleased with the worms quality of life. They were, and still are very active. The worms and all the materials arrived in great condition, and ample instructions to get them out of the transportation carton. The only complaint that I have, is that I had to get bungy cords to hold the lid down tight. I had a couple of nights that many of the worms escaped out of the farm. I had the farm in a plastic swimming pool and I was able to collect them and get them back into the farm. At the end of the day, I have caught several trout on these worms and would highly recomend them to those that might be undecided.
