The optimum choice for the rod of a lifetime because this water-clear, non-yellowing, one-part urethane finish will downright outlast the rod itself. It eliminates bulky buildup on the rod windings, and it's the perfect finish for rods subject to harsh sunlight and weather. Also a great protective coating for wood real seats. Available: 1 oz., 4 oz.

Haven't used it enough to write a thorough review but, as of this moment, it seems to do what it's suppose to do w/ease of application. If it's as good for all my rods as it's been w/the couple on which I've used it, then it is well worth the money I paid.
Worked well on bamboo fly rod guide wraps. Clear finish without bubbles. Additional coats can be applied in less than two hours. After pouring necessary amount, I recapped bottle quickly, placed in a ziplock bag, evacuated as much air as possible, then placed in glass jar and stored in frost free refrigerator. This method of storage was successful until I used contents of the 1 ounce bottle, which was about 14 days.
This is one of the few products I find which is better than advertised. I still have my Garcia 8622 Graphite rod from circa 1965, but now it looks brand new. U-40 is far-and -away the best refinish product I have ever used.
